Did I ever mention that I despise hospitals?

So, there is something worse than your wife and infant son being a thousand miles away for a week.

Isaac just got out of the hospital after a five-day visit for a suspected viral infection that cleared up on its own, but now we have a list of specialists to go see about his apnea and the hydronephrosis that we’re not at all suprised at, but on which we (on the advice of our doctor, mind you) were planning to take a ‘wait and see’ approach.

ER doc to the rescue! How dare you wait another second! He stops breathing? Pump this 11.5 pound kid full of preventative drugs because I say so! Go see a GI specialist! Go see a neurologist (might be SEIZURES)! Why didn’t your doctor send you in earlier? I am all-knowing in my blue scrubs! Hah!

Bitterness? Nah, that’s just the fatigue talking. And don’t even get Tiff started - she stayed in his hospital room every night; I just did Friday and Saturday.

But we’re all home now and getting back to normal (I think). It will be nice to sleep together in our own bed for the first night in nearly a week.

Isaac: 9 weeks, 2 days; ~11.5 pounds
