Why Homeschool?

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

We frequently read blogs about homeschooling. What people are using for curriculum, where they go for “extra” curricular activities, and what not….
I was reading the “Why Homeschool” blog today because they posted a “homeschool carnival” and I really enjoy reading them. One of the links in the carnival was a mom and dad’s story as […]

He’s soooo cute!

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I’m going to gush a moment…Isaac was so unbelievably cute this morning. Zeb was leaving for the office, so Isaac and I went to Isaac’s window so he could wave bye-bye. Now we usually greet Daddy from the window, so this was a new thing for Isaac. He stood in the […]

Houdini Part 2

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

So….Saturday morning, the little guy manages to escape his second cast. We wrapped his arm in gauze and ACE bandage and decided we would have to wait til Monday’s appointment to do anything about it.
Dr. Linard, our official Orthopedic Surgeon, thought they were all crazy to even try and said to keep it wrapped […]

Houdini

10pm Wednesday night… “Squeak!”… Sideways glance at Isaac… He has managed somehow to get his cast off his arm and is picking at the gauze protecting the stitches on his finger.
11pm Wednesday night… Same Doc… Same ER… Different strategy… We’re just going to rig it so he can’t hurt it ’til you can see the […]

You really can’t turn your back!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Ok…so he’s got a HUGE cast on his tiny arm.  I’m thinking he has issues trying to pull up to play with toys and falls a lot.  I need to change a load of laundry.  I take him downstairs with me, which is pretty typical.  He plays with toys, I move laundry and we go […]

So, thanks to a generous tax refund this year, not to mention our diligence in not using our credit cards, we’ve finally paid off our first big credit card balance! Bank of America, you now have one less account to hold over the heads of America’s working class!!

It’s amazing how good this feels! Thanks to […]

Casting Call

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Yes..we did win the baby contest last week! But that’s the wrong kind of cast…
Isaac officially has his first major injury of childhood. As we were leaving this morning, he stood up next to the hinge side of the door and as it shut, his finger got smushed. Okay, that’s an understatement. […]

Stair Master

Monday, February 12th, 2007

And yet another new trick!!  Isaac learned today how to get up the stairs to our apartment without assistance!  Life gets more adventurous by the day :)

Peek-a-boo has advanced to using the hands!  And he apparently likes V8 when Daddy shares his….Like father like son…Mom is officially doomed.

It’s a good thing he needs me, if he wants to eat!

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Yeah…so this weekend, Isaac decided he liked Daddy more than Mommy. Now my days at home are spent dragging him away from the door, holding him so he doesn’t see pics of Zeb, and calling him at work so Isaac can hear his voice and I can have a moment of peace!
Unless he needs […]

Peek A Boo

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Ok..so this Mom’s second blog, but I figure practice makes better!
Isaac learned a new trick this weekend!  He now uses blankets, washcloths, and anything else soft to play “peek-a-boo”.  He lifts the blanket and waits for you to ask where he is and then he pulls it down and giggles!  I know it seems kinda […]
