So, thanks to a generous tax refund this year, not to mention our diligence in not using our credit cards, we’ve finally paid off our first big credit card balance! Bank of America, you now have one less account to hold over the heads of America’s working class!!

It’s amazing how good this feels! Thanks to Mary Hunt, Dave Ramsey, and their books about managing debt and family finances.

Now, in all truthfulness, we did move $1,900 of this account’s balance over to a zero-interest Discover card back in the fall, so we’re still paying down on that. But you must admit that a zero balance on any long-term credit card (after a high of nearly $4,500) looks really good! And the Discover card is the next target of our debt zapper - June 2008, here we come!
