Isaac’s Auntie Em (my old housemate in Michigan) hosted an official 1st birthday party for Isaac the first weekend in May. Andrea and David Michael, Joyce Shavers, Bert and Amanda with Cole, and of course Emily were there to celebrate with us!
Isaac had a cake that looked like an aquarium. He liked the fish too much and crawled right through the cake. Cole looked on and looked at us with the cutest expression of “You know you’re going to get in BIG trouble for this” and “Isn’t someone going to tell him to stop?”. It was loads of fun and Isaac ended up with a bath in a bucket on the back patio!
We also went to Virginia for the week of Memorial Day. Isaac go to see his greatgrandparents, his grandparents, Tante Sarah, the Grandtante Nita, Aunt Cath, Aunt Sally, Uncle Butch, and cousins: Allen, Rachel, and Tommy. We took him to the beach twice, then Grandtante and Aunt Cath got smart and just bought him the coolest little pool that he plays with regularly here now! He went to the zoo and fell asleep looking at birds. The Grandpa and greatgranddad took Isaac for his first haircut at the barbershop that Granddad has been frequenting for years! It was lots of fun. Nita and Cath and greatgrandparents go to experience the wonderful joy of chocolate dipped cones from Dairy Queen with Isaac. That was hilarious!
Isaac rode his first Amtrak train to DC and back for this grand adventure. He loved it and so did all the people around us! He was a big hit. The servers in the dining car were competing with who had the cutest baby on either side of the car. Our server always managed to win…Hmmmm
Not much else happened in May. I turned 27 this year. Zeb and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary. Has it really only been 2 years??
