Isaac had a sleep study done on January 4th. A lot of people have been curious about what it does and looks like, so we took a picture! Effectively, Isaac is attached to an EEG (brain waves), a heart monitor (to see if/when his heartrate drops), several motion detectors for his legs and chest and stomach, and a monitor at his nose and mouth to keep track of the amount of carbon dioxide he exhales. It is not painful, and he did very well for a kid his age. He slept from Friday night until Saturday morning. Fortunately, he did have a rougher night, so they got lots of good data hopefully. Unfortunately, it also required mom and dad and Isaac to come home and sleep for a few more hours..

Oh, and the pulse-ox. It measures the amount of oxygen in his blood. “Lily”, pronounced LIE LEE, and “Frog” were his companions and kept him from pulling at everything all night long…
