Isaac is NOT having surgery on his airways.
Isaac does have some funkiness in his urine, which we will not know more about until later next week.
Isaac is a charming and precocious little boy, who melted everyone’s heart whom he met..
One terribly endearing story was from today. We were waiting for our turn at the ENT [...]

Well, of course, Isaac can’t make anything simple so here goes…
1. Isaac has significant central sleep apnea with desaturations of at least 4% everytime (45 times in the night).
2. Isaac does NOT have post sigh apneas, nor does he have post arousal apneas.
3. Isaac does have VERY mild and subtle obstructive hypopneas.
Course of action is to [...]

I don’t have too many specifics and can’t even really decide whether to happy or sad about the whole situation.
Isaac STILL has central sleep apnea. This particular neurologist believes it to be “significant” with “concerning desaturations”. Isaac also has some mild and “normal” obstructive apneas. We are working on getting a follow-up scheduled to decide [...]

We do not have the results of the study. We have been told to be thankful if we have them before Christmas, but to not expect them until after. I told them I was going to be angry if we didn’t have them before!
The reason for the delay is that apparently they were behind in [...]

It has been brought to our attention that these pictures might be disturbing to some. Please review before letting any of the kids see them (or not see them). Isaac looks like his is in the ICU, but it is really just a lot of monitoring equipment to see what we can find out about [...]

Isaac had his MRI this morning, barely. I had to convince the nurse that he would be okay with the sedation (not general anesthesia), especially with me right there to notice the subtle changes in his coloration. Dr. Finkel and I finally convinced her that a smaller dose would be more than sufficient, as it [...]

Isaac is scheduled to have his EKG on Wednesday, Jan. 23rd at 8:30am. I am told it is very simple, and not painful at all. We will have to wait until the following week for results.
**This is not today’s official post. There will be a new one later today with a picture :)

Isaac had a sleep study done on January 4th. A lot of people have been curious about what it does and looks like, so we took a picture! Effectively, Isaac is attached to an EEG (brain waves), a heart monitor (to see if/when his heartrate drops), several motion detectors for his legs and chest [...]

So, there is something worse than your wife and infant son being a thousand miles away for a week.
Isaac just got out of the hospital after a five-day visit for a suspected viral infection that cleared up on its own, but now we have a list of specialists to go see about his apnea and [...]
